There are two main focal points when it comes to Christmas, the tree and the table. I must admit I love both. The tree is a family affair, we hang all the decorations together, put on the star and turn on the lights…and there it is, beautiful and glowing, just waiting for Santa. Then there is the table, left mainly to me (if hosting), the table is a very special place, it’s the place where we all come together…we share a meal, share stories, laugh and watch our bellies grow. A meal shared reminds us how lucky we are, we know we are because we are together, surrounded by love, with abundance…and to me that is what Christmas is about. A reminder that we have all we need and that we are loved. Above is my table edit, this season I seem to be lovin’ gold (usually I’m a silver girl), I would use the wreath on the table with candles inside or hung on a wall close to the table. I’m also lovin’ the confetti wine glasses, so so fabulous! Happy entertaining with loved ones!
I just love decorating with glass jars and have a little collection growing – mason jars, milk bottles, glass bottles of all sizes… When I saw these gorgeous gold stickers (@larkstore), I instantly thought of Christmas and thought they would look great on said jars. Before starting, wash the jars thoroughly and allow to completely dry (note, stickers are like band-aids they don’t like water). Place stickers onto jars, I chose to spell out words. So easy but I think, very effective. Decorate with flowers or candles. Use jars as a centrepiece, to decorate shelves or even steps. You could even personalise everyone’s glass on the table with their initial!

Today is exciting because it’s my first Christmas post this season and I just l-o-v-e the festivities of Christmas. With only 5 weeks to go (can you believe it?), it’s time to get jolly. Here are some bits + bobs I have found this year to add to my Chrissy loot. I’m lovin’ the bone china reindeer (my collection of bone china is bordering on obsessive), the cone tree decorations are oh so cute + I couldn’t resist these paper stencil santa bags (they also come in pink, blue + black). I love drawing inspiration from what I can find in the stores. Over the coming weeks I’ll be sharing some of my own ‘Makes’ for Christmas so please make sure you pop back by.
Shop my chrissy finds here:
:: Santa paper bags + twine from Ikea
:: Silver placemats + coasters from Avon
:: Reindeer Bone China from Domayne
:: Bingo and Charades table games (The Lagoon Group) + Gingerbread cookie house cutters (IS Kitchen) from Spoilt
:: Hanging cone decorations from Larkstore
:: Holly sprinkles from Riot Art & Craft

I thought for my last Mother’s Day post, I would do something with flowers. Let’s admit it, flowers are one of the safe ‘go to’ presents for mums. These cute (and extremely easy) floral arrangements are not only a present but double as table decor. Just remember to give them to the mums after you eat!
I brought the vases for $4 from the local discount shop and the flowers from the supermarket. The ‘M’ is for mum and the ‘N’ for nan. Cute right?

There is something special and magical about Christmas. People start to slow down, laugh a little more and re-appreciate the things around them. We especially love watching Christmas through a child’s eyes and acting child-like ourselves. Here are some of the things that are making us smile this Christmas.
