When I think of jumpsuits, the word ‘playful’ instantly jumps to mind. These jumpsuits encapsulate just that playfulness – fun, fresh + feminine. They are perfect for the summer months ahead and with a few accessories you can take this look, from day to night! For day, team with gladiator sandals, a wrist full of bangles, tosselled beachy hair, wide rim hat and sunnies. For night, pull hair back into a loose bun, add statement earrings, clutch and strappy heels. Have fun with this piece, the allure of the jumpsuit (for women and men alike) is the how! How do you get in it and how do you get out of it…once that is sorted, wear with confidence!
I’m starting to crave summer – we seem to have had an extended winter this year. I want to bask in the warmth + fun + laughter that sun filled days bring. Long days outside, the beach, bbq’s, fabulous summer fruits (melons, mangoes, grapes)…the list goes on. Until then, I am channelling the greek islands and gorgeous Grecian style. Think simple, practical yet bold and glamorous. Keep it breezy and easy with sandals, kaftans, bikinis, sunglasses and a tote. Afterall, you don’t need much when you are in paradise!

The crop is back in force this season! The look has been refined and is clean, fresh, minimal and elegant. Gone is the grunge, tattered and distressed look (you know the one, crops teamed with torn denim). Either way, you still need to ooze confidence to pull this look off but if you have it, why not try it? I absolutely love Nicole Ritchie’s (in Alberta Ferretti) look above – stunning! Follow Nicole’s lead and team with a slicked back up-do and minimal jewellery + accessories.

At the start of spring I wrote about this season’s must have block heels (see the post here) and am now the proud owners of the one’s above. I think they are just divine. Black and white has been a hot trend all year and these shoes with the fedora style hat will be my go to summer staples. The hat is fresh and fun and will go with everything (also being a mum to young kids, a go to hat is essential in the summer heat)! And what is there to say about the heels – perfect heel, height and support. Overall, just lovely. What do you think?

I’m loving navy at the moment, I seem to be drawn to it in every shop I go into. My recent purchases can prove it – a navy wallet, dress and knit. I find it cheery but not too bright. It’s the ‘black’ for spring/summer. Of course you can’t think of navy without thinking of stripes and I’m loving the wider stripes on both the tee and dress pictured below. Keep this look fresh by teaming with neutrals – think white, camel and tan. And keep accessories simple, a bangle and some tortoise sunnies and you’re all set.

Fashion plays a huge part of Melbourne’s Spring Racing Carnival. I love the sense of occasion it brings, how everyone dresses up to look their best on the field – the men all suited up and looking dapper and the women out to impress! It’s the only place I can think of where you can dress up from head to toe, where accessories (ie. hats + fascinators) can play a bigger part in your overall look than the dress. Here are my top 3 looks for Spring Racing…and good luck trackside, hope you back a winner.
Which look is your favourite?
I do tend to love all things Mimco and Mimco’s selection of hats, headpieces and headbands for Melbourne’s Spring Racing Carnival are no exceptions. Knowing how quickly these will be scooped up, I would choose your headpiece first and build your outfit from there! Here are my favourite pieces. Check out the whole collection here.
Psst. Later this week I will share my top 3 looks for Spring Racing.
I’ve been spotting matching sets everywhere lately – tops/jumpers teamed with matching skirts, pants and shorts. I’m loving the printed floral top and pant set by Veronika Maine (pictured below). I’m undecided whether this is an easy look to pull off but that doesn’t mean I can’t crush over it. Right? Keep accessories classic and simple ie. pointed/strappy heels in black or nude, bangles/cuffs etc. This is one look that you must commit to, wear with confidence + attitude! Otherwise you may look too prissy or coordinated or worse still, like you are wearing pajamas.

Who doesn’t get a little swept away with the romance and elegance of all things french? Since buying the striped top pictured below, I’ve been channeling my inner parisian goddess (well, I like to think so). Nothing oozes confidence and sophistication like french style. Think said stripes, navy, white, red, cross over body bags/satchels, flats, red lips, bops + loose buns and beautiful french manicured nails.

Spring is well and truly upon us here in Australia and we have been pleasantly rewarded this first week with sunshine filled days and balmy nights. There is nothing like nice weather to brighten your mood and get you wanting to get out and about and do things. A nice change from the last few months which I must admit have been bit of a struggle. So with this new-found energy, I’m going to fully embrace Spring and all that comes with it – new blooms, strolls in the park (something Storm our dog is also excited about), an afternoon Moscato, playing on our decking, extended daylight..here are my predictions for Spring!
