Receiving a well wrapped gift can be just as exciting as receiving a gift. Wrapping is all about the details, the extra touches, that are not essential but are thoughtful and special for the gift receiver. At Christmas time especially, I love adding personal touches to my gifts, such as handmade gift tags, stamped paper, decorative/washi tape, embellishments like string, ornaments ie. bells or a christmas tree decoration, twigs, holly, stickers, confetti, glitter and special treats like candy or chocolate. I like that the wrapping is the beginning of the gift and what is to come…hopefully a thoughtful and loved present. Below are some beautiful wrapping ideas, just in time for Christmas.
We all seem to get roped into at least one Secret Santa/Kris Kringle each Christmas but just because there is a limit on the how much you can spend doesn’t mean you have to resort to chocolate or a bottle of wine. Shop my Secret Santa gift guide below, where all gifts are $25 (AUD) or under and a nice alternative for your co-worker, relative or friend. I know I would be happy giving or receiving any of these.
Today is exciting because it’s my first Christmas post this season and I just l-o-v-e the festivities of Christmas. With only 5 weeks to go (can you believe it?), it’s time to get jolly. Here are some bits + bobs I have found this year to add to my Chrissy loot. I’m lovin’ the bone china reindeer (my collection of bone china is bordering on obsessive), the cone tree decorations are oh so cute + I couldn’t resist these paper stencil santa bags (they also come in pink, blue + black). I love drawing inspiration from what I can find in the stores. Over the coming weeks I’ll be sharing some of my own ‘Makes’ for Christmas so please make sure you pop back by.

At the start of spring I wrote about this season’s must have block heels (see the post here) and am now the proud owners of the one’s above. I think they are just divine. Black and white has been a hot trend all year and these shoes with the fedora style hat will be my go to summer staples. The hat is fresh and fun and will go with everything (also being a mum to young kids, a go to hat is essential in the summer heat)! And what is there to say about the heels – perfect heel, height and support. Overall, just lovely. What do you think?

We have been having some wonderful weather over the last few days, perfect for lazy days spent in the backyard. I have fallen in love with the Huron chair below. I think it would be perfect on our decking or lawn – watching the kids play, reading or in my imagination having an afternoon snooze in. This kind of find is what I call a hero piece, a piece so W-O-W you fall for it straight away (and of course, really really want). Like hubby keeps reminding me, “Add it to the list”. Ok, then I will – check, it’s officially on my wishlist.

When I came across these fabulous rope creations from Brisbane creative Clare, I just had to share them with you. Clare uses 100% cotton rope and colourful stitching thread as the decorative detail on her products. I love the raw quality of the products and think they are just delightful. I have my eye on these orange bowls (pictured above). Zillpa’s current range includes bowls, dishes, pot holders, coasters, bags and plant hangers. Check out the whole range here.
My favourite thing to do when the weather begins to warm up is to spend the day with my little men (+ big man) outdoors either at the park or on our deck! We are lucky to have some fantastic parks just a hop, skip and jump away. I love running around with my boys, walking our dog, setting up a picnic rug, enjoying some natural vitamin D (after the hibernation of winter) and R&R… These fab Etsy finds are inspired by all that.
*Okay I know what you are thinking, my day at the park has turned into an event with these gorgeous balloons but in my defence I have two little ones and think they would look fabulous next to a reserved wooden table. Don’t you agree?
